How Does AdSense Work?
Since AdSense began aspiring entrepreneurs have been asking, “How Does AdSense Work?” It doesn’t really make sense that you can get paid every time a website visitor clicks on an ad on your site; however, that is exactly how Adsense does work. The reality is that Google AdSense is a program that complements Google’s pay-per-click advertising program, Google AdWords. - It is good for website owners who advertise through the AdWords program because their ads get more exposure.
- It is good for webmasters that participate in Google AdSense because they get paid for the clicks.
- It is good for Google because they also get paid for the clicks.
- It is good for website visitors because they get instant access to information that is inline with their interests.
Overall it is a Win-Win-Win-Win situation.

What if ads from competitors appear on my site?
The ads that appear on your site are related to the keywords that you use. Obviously, competitive ads will show up. Google, being the internet guru that it is, has figured it all out. As a participant in the AdSense program, you can choose to block competitive ads using the competitive ad filter. Viola! Competitors are gone. In my experience, I have found there are very few competitors that need to be blocked. My website was built using the
sound principle of delivering what website visitors want.
Most of the competitors that advertise through pay-per-click haven’t followed that principle, so if visitors click out of my site, I am confident that they will click on “back” to return to my site for the quality that it presents. If they don’t, I don’t worry about it. I got paid for the click.
Will the Google Ads distract my visitors from my content?
If the content of your website is of high-quality and meets the visitor’s expectations, they won’t click out of your site until they have all the information (or products or services) that they are looking for. When it is time for them to leave, they may click on advertisements; and the great part is, you get paid for the click. That is a whole lot better than losing the visitor with no pay.
